ROMELL FOSTER-OWENS has been in the business of producing, writing and directing high quality, award-winning television series, made for TV movies, documentaries, and independent feature films for more than 20 years. Ms. Foster-Owens is a graduate of the prestigious American Film Institute where she majored in Film Directing and San Diego State University where she majored in Theatre Arts and Television Production and is the President of Jowharah Films.
Ms. Foster-Owens has produced and written more than 200 hours of television programming and five television series, including the Emmy Award-winning television series Teen Scene and Motorsorts Mania.
Millicent Shelton (Emmy-nominated Director)
MILLICENT SHELTON is a versatile award-winning Writer/Director in the Film and Music Video worlds. In a very short time, she has also established herself as a noteworthy director in Television having directed the hit NBC Comedy, 30 Rock, and the TNT Dramedy starring Ray Romano, Men of A Certain Age. A trailblazer, Shelton was recently the first African American Female nominated for an EMMY Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series. She was also the first recipient of the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series for an episode of The Bernie Mac Show.
Shelton made her feature film directorial debut with Miramax’s RIDE, a hip-hop road comedy. The film, based on Shelton’s original screenplay, is an energetic comedy that chronicles the adventures of a group of Harlem youths traveling on a bus from New York to Miami to play extras in a music video in hopes of breaking into the music business.
Forrest Murray (Sundance-winning Producer)
FORREST MURRAY HAS BEEN MAKING MOVIES FOR OVER FORTY YEARS, THE LAST TWENTY FIVE AS A PRODUCER. HE PRODUCED INDEPENDENT AWARD WINNERS FIVE CORNERS, BOB ROBERTS, DEAD MAN OUT FOR HBO, DENIS LEARY’S NO CURE FOR CANCER FOR SHOWTIME, AND THE SPITFIRE GRILL. MURRAY HAS PRODUCED FIVE PRIME TIME SPECIALS FOR NBC, AND HAS BEEN A LONGTIME FACULTY MEMBER AT THE AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE, AND THE SCHOOL OF VISUAL ARTS IN NEW YORK CITY.
Richard Kiratsoulis (Film Finance Consultant)
Richard Kiratsoulis is a Consultant and Financial Advisor specializing in the areas of production, distribution, and operations for several independent film companies and financiers. Mr. Kiratsoulis has raised P&A financing and served as the primary advisor for several domestic releases including the feature films Monster (Academy Award winner) and One Night with the King. Mr. Kiratsoulis has lectured at the UCLA Anderson School of Management and serves as an adjunct professor at UCLA Extension.
Formerly, Mr. Kiratsoulis served as President and COO of Media 8 Entertainment from 1994 - 2005. During this period, the company evolved from a foreign sales company to a leading independent film company, producing the Golden Globe and Academy Award winning film Monster (Charlize Theron). Mr. Kiratsoulis served as the principal production executive on up to seven independent feature film productions a year with budgets aggregating nearly $100 million. Other credits include The Upside of Anger (Kevin Costner & Joan Allen), Running Scared (Paul Walker & Vera Farmiga), Eye of the Beholder (Ewan McGregor & Ashley Judd), The Musketeer (Justin Chambers), The Quest (Jean-Claude Van Damme), and Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book (Jason Scott Lee). Principal responsibilities involved overseeing all aspects of production, finance, distribution, strategic planning, and business affairs; including the “greenlighting” of all feature film projects; and administration of a film library with 160 titles.
Mr. Kiratsoulis has served as a Chief Operating Officer in other diversified industries with direct responsibility for up to 6,000 employees. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Massachusetts.
